Welcome to the Hygiene Museum

The 17th International Colloquium on Paratuberculosis to be held in the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden from June 7th 2026 to June 11th 2026 will join paratuberculosis specialists (researchers, veterinarians, farmers) all around the World. Dresden being the working place of the German pathologist Heinrich Albert Johne, who contributed decisively to the first scientific report about paratuberculosis in 1895, we will be ‘back to the roots’.

This event is an unique opportunity to share the most recent findings and discuss upcoming challenges. The conference will cover several topics related to paratuberculosis, such as

  • Molecular Epidemiology and MAP Diversity, MAP in Environment
  • Host-pathogen interactions and Host genetics
  • Vaccines: Development and efficiency in practice
  • Diagnostics and Biomarkers
  • Food Safety and Public Health
  • Economic Consequences and Control Plans

The social programme, including the Welcome Reception, a Gala Dinner, and Technical Visits of dairy farms or the Moritzburg State Stud will offer many opportunities to make and maintain contacts with colleagues and friends.

The venue itself not only offers an excellent conference ambience, it is also an extraordinary museum that impressively combines science, health, culture and art.

We look forward to meeting you in Dresden 2026 at the 17th ICP.
